With real zebrawood on its top and back, Duchess has the best-in-class specifications among modern-day violins. Its body, neck, and bridge are made of solid maple, while the fingerboard is made of ebony. The shape of Duchess has its reference to the old Chanot violin, which is smooth, graceful, and helpful, too.

Duchess comes with an active pickup made in Germany by Shadow Electronics, plus a 2-band EQ, volume control, and a switch of output between amp and headphone. It also benefits from an aux in where your play-along tracks go in, and come out from the output along with the part you play.

Duchess is crafted and fitted by our luthiers with 20+ years of experience. It is both practical and collectible.

Nice violin! Honestly, it turned out to be one of my most valuable purchases.

Great instrument for my band

I played traditional violins back in high school, but now, plugging this into various speakers and pedals to create wild sounds has become my thing. It's perfect for adding that unique background vibe to my band's music. I can imagine professional violinists would have a blast using it as a lead instrument too!

Perfect for acoustic violinists

I really like it, both the look and the sound! I've mostly played acoustic violins till now. But seeing a lot of my friends switching to electric got me curious. Impacted by them, I'm willing to have a try. I've been on the lookout for something that doesn't stray too far from the classic acoustic look because, to be honest, some electric violins just look too over the top for me. After searching through loads of options, I finally settled on this one. It's got that traditional feel but with a bit of an upgrade. What surprised me most is its sound. My friends had warned me about the sound difference with electric violins. But this one, the 'Duchess', actually sounds pretty close to an acoustic, which was a pleasant surprise! I guess that's because it's equipped with a better pickup. So, if you're thinking about making the switch from acoustic to electric but are worried about losing that classic vibe or sound quality like me, this might be a good pick.

2-band EQ, not 3

I thought it was euipped with a 3-band EQ, only to find it was a 2-band EQ with a volume control after receiving. I'm a little bit disappointed about this. But it not their fault. So I give 4 stars.

Silent Violin

Great sound. I especially like the phones out design. Just need to plug in my headphones and I can start playing whenever and wherever I want.
